Choosing the Right Person to Work at Manor House Nursery is Crucial to What We Do.

Who are Manor House Nursery Group

Since opening in 2008, the Manor House Nursery Group has been owned and run by Sean & Jayne Sheerin.

There are four parts to the organisation; the Manor House Nursery, the Manor House Forest School, the Kindergarten Woodland Nursery and Manor House Training and Development. It’s an award-winning place with a few titles in the bag so far; Nursery World UK Practitioner of the Year 2013, Nursery World UK Nursery of the Year 2014, and since day one, OFSTED has rated us as Outstanding in all areas. The Manor House Nursery Group is truly an incredible place where children start an education for life, not just preparation for school.

About Our Team

Choosing the right person to work at Manor House Nursery is crucial to what we do.

We have over 60 qualified and experienced staff, believing that child-care is a ‘vocation’ and not just a ‘job’. Our team of managers have been selected because of their unique skills, and their length of time at the nursery, which means they understand what different families and children really need.

Our qualified early years teachers organise activities based around stories, songs and rhymes, using role play to help build children’s understanding, and we know children thrive when relationships and bonds are built, bonds that we build through paired family workers. We are also very proud to employ male practitioners; they offer wonderful, positive role models for children. We employ a full-time SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) with her own room and specialist resources, great if a child needs a little bit of extra help or one-on-one support.

All our staff are paediatric first aid trained within 3 months of employment and are fully trained in safeguarding.

All in all, we are very proud of our staff, and it’s them who make Manor House Nursery so very special.

Jayne Sheerin

Jayne has numerous qualifications in childcare and in assessing childcare. She is a qualified Safeguarding and Child Protection trainer, and has over 20 years experience within the nursery and child minding industries. Described as the ‘heart and soul’ of the Manor House Group, Jayne ensures high quality in both the nursery and forest school, by teaching staff to look after children as if they were their own. Jayne looks after the 68 staff and all operational matters within the nursery and forest school. Jayne has a team of six Managers to ensure each and every area of the nursery and forest school is led well by highly qualified and experienced professionals.

Sean Sheerin

Sean runs the business side of the whole Manor House Group, including the nursery and forest school and Kindergarten, his background working initially in finance has proven invaluable. Following that, Sean worked as a Customs Officer for several years. He and Jayne converted their first nursery in 1999, and Sean has always been the ‘driver’ of new ideas and projects that have ensured Manor House settings are as high quality as they can be. Sean manages the land and buildings, the health and safety and finances and forward progression of all Manor House business.
